Nigel has been a friend of our bike studio , Velo Atelier, for quite a while so when he started thinking about getting a custom bike built we were pleased to build him something very special.

 

His riding has been moving towards long all day events for a while and he was keen to get a bike that would allow more all day adventures and be a contrast to the lightweight carbon frames he normally rides.

 

We selected a range of tubes to work with his weight and riding style and the frame was then designed around his position, which we had from his Clinical Bike Fit at the studio.

 

The bike was to be light and responsive but be able to take a range of wheel sizes and tyres. The frameset has clearence for 700x38c, 650Bx1.5" or 26x2.1" wheels to allow a wide range of riding choices.

 

We complimented the utility of the design with hidden mudguard mounts.

 

Nigel had always had Orange as his preffered colour but then added the grey highlights, which are the exact grey of the fighter jets that his father worked on.

 

Just to ensure Nigel is prepared for any eventuality we added a Silca Frame pump, sprayed to match the frameset.
