We have worked with Matt for years now on his Bike fit and we also custom painted his TT bike a while back.

Matt set himself a new goal last year of competing in the Race Across America, and he wanted to do it on a British Steel bike!

Our brief was to create a fast and comfortable bike which could carry him the 3000 or so miles across all of the varied terrains of America.

​

We opted for a Columbus Stainless steel tube set designed around Matt's ideal performance position, which we have honed over several years of bike fitting at our Velo Atelier studio.

One of the features Matt wanted was for the cabling to be integrated to keep it clean and simple in aesthetic. At the time this hadn't really been done in a steel frame but with a little experimentation we worked out a way to integrate everything through the headset whilst using standard parts that could be easily replaced should the need arise.

Matt was also very focussed on his paint scheme. He wanted large METEOR WORKS logos on the down tube and the classic "Takin' care of Business" icon on the top tube to give him a visual totem to his efforts.
